Maryborough Osteopathy

 What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a manual medicine that uses anatomical knowledge and philosophical reasoning to locate the cause of conditions/symptoms that patients present with. Osteopaths use their hands to locate and adjust structures of the body with the intention to relieve symptoms. Osteopathy incorporates scientific knowledge with philosophical principles.

The first Osteopath A.T. Still discovered the science of Osteopathy after studying and examining the human body, and spending countless hours in nature. He prompted the Osteopath to find Health – stating that anyone can find disease. Now, 140 years later, it seems all the more necessary to assist patients to rediscover their relationship to the healing capacities that lie within the human form.

About Taylor

Through the practice of osteopathy Taylor has found a modality with includes a person’s body, breath and mind in the living picture, and how to revitalise a patient’s relationship to their inherent healing capacity.

He enjoys uncovering the stories that live underneath physical injuries and how, through working with the forces inherent in the human being, the whole person may find a renewed sense of place within themselves.

He draws on his background in teaching yoga and breathing, tutoring anatomy and work in aged care to assist patients in appreciating movement in all forms; and how it instills a sense of agency and understanding in the treatment journey.

Taylor regularly undertakes continued learning: whether it's professionally through courses in; the philosophy of osteopathy, or contemplative practices, or recreationally through studying anatomy and spending time in nature; both continue to teach him that Osteopathy is a philosophy practiced throughout his life.
